Sunlionet

SunLionet Version 1.0 Readiness Assessment

1. Executive Summary

Current Status: Ready for 1.0 with Conditions. Recommendation: Extended RC1 phase for 30 days of real-world “Stage 2/3” beta testing before the final 1.0 label.

2. Maturity Evaluation

Dimension Rating Justification
Product Maturity Medium Core journey (Import -> Connect) is stable. Multi-hop mesh is simulated but needs more real-world validation on high-latency networks.
Security Maturity High Cryptography, state encryption (SecureStore), and bundle signing are robustly implemented. Security response lifecycle is now documented.
Operational Maturity Medium Mirror strategy and incident response plans are in place. Sustainability model is defined but lacks multi-maintainer history.
Documentation Maturity High Bilingual (EN/FA) docs cover installation, safety, and governance comprehensively.
Release Maturity High CI/CD pipeline produces signed, verified artifacts with automated mirror notifications.
Sustainability Maturity Medium Governance model is lightweight and practical, but the “Minimum Maintainer Set” (3) is not yet fully met by independent parties.

3. Pre-1.0 Exit Gates (The “Conditions”)

Before the final 1.0 label is applied, the following must be met:

  1. 30 Days of Stability: No P0/P1 issues reported during the Stage 3 (Controlled Public Beta) rollout.
  2. External Security Audit: Completion of at least one independent security review of the core pkg/bundle and SecureStore modules.
  3. Maintainer Expansion: Onboarding of at least one additional independent maintainer to satisfy the “Bus-Factor” requirement.
  4. Real-world Performance: Verification that connection success rates exceed 90% in the target region across at least 3 different ISPs.

4. Why Not “Extended Beta”?

SunLionet has reached a level of structural and cryptographic stability that warrants a 1.0 RC (Release Candidate) status. Labeling it as “Ready for 1.0 with Conditions” signals confidence in the architecture while acknowledging the need for operational validation under stress.

5. Conclusion

SunLionet is technically ready for its mission. The final steps toward 1.0 are operational and organizational, not architectural.
